How to Play Atari's Missile Command®
Missile Command® is easy to play, but difficult to master!
The goal of this classic ATARI® arcade game is to protect your city from incoming missiles by guiding a crosshair with your mouse (or by tapping your mobile or tablet screen) to shoot counter-measures and destroy the enemy's barrage of weaponry. Sounds easy, and Missile Command® is, but things get chaotic in a hurry!
About Missile Command®
Classic arcade game lovers rejoice!
This is the official ATARI® Missile Command®arcade game first released in 1981 and is widely considered to be one of the great classic video games from the Golden Age of Arcade Games, receiving a five star rating on influential publication AllGame.
In Missile Command®, six cities (fun fact: the original six cities were all in the US state of California, but the city names were later removed in later versions of the game) are under attack by scores of ballistic missiles. The player -commander of anti-missile weaponry- must defend the six cities from the barrage of attacks so they do not get destroyed. Missile Command® concludes when the six cities get destroyed from the barrage of missile attacks.
Since its debut over 40 years ago, the Missile Command® video game does not appear to be losing any steam: the game has sold close to 20,000 arcade cabinets or arcade machines and popular updated versions of Missile Command® have been released for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, and many other popular gaming platforms. And, of course, for free to play here on Arkadium.com ! Good luck playing this free version of the popular arcade Missile Command®!
